What we Believe

tiny love

We believe in living out our Christian faith as effectively as possible, having an impact on those who have not yet heard or experienced the great news about Jesus Christ.

We believe we should share the good news about Jesus, equip people in their faith journey and see them live out their faith in the world.

At the church, we believe in…
  • The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
  • The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
  • The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
  • The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
  • The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
  • The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
  • The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
  • The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
  • The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for you if you are planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at 14 Devonshire Road (details here) for our Sunday Meeting starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the meeting begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted at the front door by someone on our Welcome Team.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the meeting; some folk bring their lunch and stay around for a while. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility:  If you have any questions about accessibility, please contact us on this number prior to your visit on 0151 727 4353.

Our Meeting

The meeting begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. We don't have a fixed format, but there will be a time of open worship which will include some songs that will be shown on the screens.
People may pray out loud or read a short passage from the bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We may then finish with a final word of prayer. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.
